Micro-surgical Endodontics: From planning to execution
This intense 3- day course is designed to provide participants with the ability to learn all about endodontic microsurgery. Starting from decision making, treatment planning, patient positioning and selection of the appropriate armamentarium, all the way to proper management of the root, as well as soft and hard tissue structures for a predictable treatment outcome. Participants will perform a surgery on a simulated 3D surgical model using surgical operating microscope and proper microsurgery armamentarium. They will incise and reflect simulated gingiva, make osteotomy, apicoectomy, retro-preparation and retro-filling followed by suturing.
At the end of this course Participants should be able to: 1- Perform Adequate treatment planning in endodontic microsurgery 2- Learn how to utilize the different endodontic microsurgical armamentarium 3- Learn How to save time in each step of the surgical procedure 4- Understand the best evidence available regarding Endodontic microsurgery 5- Learn about the concept of complete surgical retreatment 6- List reasons for using guided tissue regeneration techniques in endodontic surgery 7- Outline the scenarios where guided tissue regeneration is essential for better bone remodelling 8- Discuss when graft material and resorbable membranes can be used separately or in combination.
